Disneyland Paris has finally announced the grand opening of its eagerly-awaited World of Frozen land, and we’ve been given an exclusive first glimpse inside the kingdom of Arendelle.

Starting from 29 March 2026, Disney enthusiasts will have the opportunity to explore Anna and Elsa’s homeland, with a variety of experiences on offer including a brand new ride, character meet and greets, fresh shows, and exclusive food and drink options.

I was fortunate enough to be among the first to get a sneak preview of the new Frozen land in the Walt Disney Studios Park (which will undergo a rebranding to Disney Adventure World when the Frozen land also opens). From the moment you step foot in the park, it’s evident that Frozen devotees won’t be let down.

As you approach the area, a massive snowy mountain comes into view, with Elsa’s ice palace visible in the distance, Nordic-inspired buildings that are sure to be a hit on Instagram, and charming fountains adorned with icicles – because, well, it’s Frozen. I also noticed some Mickey-shaped details for those who enjoy hunting for hidden Mickeys in the park!

As for the character meet and greets? There’s a brand new little Olaf animatronic who you’ll be able to spot with the princesses; he’s absolutely adorable and kids are undoubtedly going to love him. It’s very impressive technology; he waddles around, talks and waves, and had everyone cooing and cheering as he wandered about, joined by Anna and Elsa.

The Olaf animatronic is a world-first, and really brings the character to life especially when he interacts with the princesses.

If you want to meet the princesses, you’ll need to book a slot at the Arendelle castle – the perk being that you then can enjoy the rest of the park rather than waiting around for hours. The good news is that it won’t be the only character interaction available throughout the land.

There’ll be chances to meet Oaken (‘Yoohoo, big summer blowout’), some of the adorable baby trolls, and villagers ready to share some quirky stories about life in Arendelle.

There will be a show occurring multiple times a day within the bay in the Frozen village including a float of boats led by Kristoff and Olaf, with a chance to spot the princesses as they wave to their guests from their own gorgeous boat. The 15-minute colourful show will include a chance for the audience to sing along with characters too, including iconic songs like ‘Let It Go’ or ‘Show Yourself’.

Food enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice at the Nordic Crowns Tavern, where you can customise your own bowl with a base, protein, vegetables and sauce. The chefs reportedly tested 30 different types of mashed potato before settling on the perfect one for the restaurant, which also offers vegan and gluten-free options.

For those partial to a drink, The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge is a must-visit. Adorned with princess-inspired murals, you can even book Character Dining to meet the princesses in person.

The decor features beautiful floral patterns, dark green furniture and numerous references to all the princesses, not just Elsa and Anna. The lounge bar, a first for these parks, exudes an air of sophistication unusual for a theme park, especially with its impressive selection of Kir Royale and Champagne cocktails.

While we didn’t get a preview of the new ‘Frozen Ever After’ ride (it’s still being built!), it promises a gentle boat journey taking families from a snowy forest to the Valley of the Trolls, through Elsa’s stunning Ice Palace, before concluding in Arendelle Bay illuminated by snowflake-shaped fireworks.

One of the standout pieces of merchandise has to be the charming Rúna troll, available at the Fjord View Shop. This interactive toy is somewhat reminiscent of a Furby, capable of talking, ‘falling asleep’ when rocked, and interacting with other toys if you have more than one.

One of its most impressive features is its ability to interact with specific ‘trigger points’ around the Frozen land, such as fountains or certain buildings.

Customers who purchase a Rúna will receive a map indicating the general areas where these interactions can occur, although the exact locations are kept secret for added fun!

These dolls retail at €70 each, which seems reasonable given the level of interaction they offer, especially if purchased before exploring the land.

Frozen isn’t the only thrilling attraction at Disney Adventure World. The theme park already features lands inspired by Marvel and Pixar, and plans are underway for an expansion that includes a Lion King-themed land in the coming years.

As you make your way towards the World of Frozen, two new delightful attractions await: a swing-style carousel inspired by Up, and a teacups-style ride inspired by Tangled.

Disney enthusiasts will also be treated to a new evening spectacle over the expansive Adventure World lake, which serves as a focal point leading to the various lands. We were given an exclusive preview, and it features drones, pyrotechnics, fountains, and some truly remarkable special effects, including references to popular films such as Moana.
