The Broadcasting Authority yesterday issued a set of rules which have to be observed in making programmes on immovable property. The rules will come into effect on 1 October.
According to the rules, surreptitious advertising is not allowed, nor can logos or shop fronts of estate agents be shown during the programme.
The person who describes the immovable property cannot be an employee or a representative of an estate agency, and the specific location and name of the street, square or road where the immovable property is situated cannot be identified at any stage of the programme, visually or orally.
Neither can any mention be made of the immovable property’s price.
