Bovine smuggler’s vehicle attached – Daily Excelsior

UDHAMPUR, Oct 18: Continuing its sustained drive against bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police today attached movable property of another habitual bovine smuggler.
According to Police, a vehicle Mahindra Bolero Pick-Up, bearing registration number JK19A-1758 valued at Rs 12 lakh belonging to Mohd Shahbaan Wani son of Mohd Shafi Wani, resident of Chabna, Damote, Ramban, was attached under Section 107(5) BNSS by the order of the Court of District Mobile Magistrate Traffic, Udhampur.
The said vehicle was involved in case FIR No. 149/2025, under section 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act of PS Rehambal. During the investigation, detailed inquiry was conducted from multiple aspects. As per the obtained criminal record and financial investigation, it was revealed that the vehicle was acquired through illegally earned money. Accordingly, it has been attached under the relevant provisions of law, Police said.
So far, Udhampur Police has attached properties worth approximately Rs 62 lakh belonging to habitual bovine smugglers.
