This instalment of Going Platinum is going to be a shorter one for a few reasons, but maybe that’s quite fitting for a shorter game.
Burly Men At Sea can be platinumed in an afternoon if you aren’t hanging about, but that’s not to say this is one of those rubbish games purpose built to get you Trophies as fast as possible.
No, this is a proper game, albeit a little one, and very enjoyable it is too.
It’s a sort of point and click adventure game, but instead of solving obtuse puzzles, you’re simply spinning a yarn.
The game has a branching narrative that leads to numerous endings, and because of its short duration, seeing everything isn’t a chore. In fact, it’s well worth exploring every possible story.
That’s because, not only is that basically the extent of the Trophy list — getting to specific endings and story moments — each tale is charming, often funny, and just quite pleasant.
This is about as easy-breezy as games can be, and if you’re in the mood for something light, it comes highly recommended. The silly situations the trio of beardy sailors get into are great, and the lovely storybook visuals are simple but effective.
