Bobby Witt Jr. continued his dominance as one of the best shortstops in the sport with yet another stellar season. The Kansas City Royals star’s offensive prowess was awarded with a Silver Slugger win, while his defensive skills won him a Gold Glove before he was also adjudged the American League’s Platinum Glove winner.

His wife Maggie Witt showed her appreciation, taking to Instagram to appreciate her husband’s effort. She dropped a three-word reaction to describe her feelings.

“So incredibly proud,” Maggie Witt captioned.

Bobby Witt Jr. and Maggie married last December. The two have been together since their high school days at Colleyville Heritage High School. Like her husband, Maggie, too, has been an athlete, playing softball for Northwestern University. She is currently a health and wellness influencer.

Bobby Witt Jr. won the American League Silver Slugger award ahead of shortstops Bo Bichette of the Toronto Blue Jays and Jeremy Pena of the Houston Astros. Witt hit at .295 with 88 RBIs and 23 home runs with 38 stolen bases. His 184 hits led the MLB for the second consecutive season.

Witt Jr. became the first player in franchise history to win multiple Rawlings’ Gold Glove awards. He had a +24 Outs Above Average, tied for the highest in the MLB in any position alongside the Chicago Cubs’ Pete Crow-Armstrong. He also had +20 fielding run value.

The 25-year-old became the fifth shortstop in the history of the game to win consecutive Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards. His defensive skills were further rewarded when he was adjudged the best fielder in the American League with a Platinum Glove award on Friday.

Bobby Witt Jr. funny comment about Connor McDavid goes viral

Bobby Witt Jr. is making the most of the offseason, devoting his time to his favorite leisure activities. This included catching an NHL game between the Dallas Stars and the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. Seated in the stands, beside his wife Maggie, a mic’d up Witt had a hilarious reaction to a drive by Oilers captain and three-time NHL MVP Connor McDavid as he weaved his way on the ice.

“This is way better than watching Dancing with the Stars,” Witt said.

After winning multiple individual awards, Witt would like to set his sights on taking the Royals deep into the postseason next year. They finished with an 82-80 record and third in the AL Central division.
