Money Heist fans have been left ‘so excited’ for the prequel series, Berlin, after Netflix shared the first trailer for the next instalment in the crime saga this week
Fans of Money Heist have been buzzing with excitement following the release of the first trailer for Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, the latest spin-off from the Spanish Netflix sensation.
Nearly a decade since the streaming juggernaut first premiered, the acclaimed crime series continues to captivate audiences with the second instalment of its spin-off centring on the fan-favourite character Berlin, otherwise known as professional thief Andrés de Fonollosa (portrayed by Pedro Alonso).
Taking place prior to the original show’s timeline, the spin-off’s debut season saw Berlin head to Paris, where he assembled his own crew of expert criminals to orchestrate a robbery targeting €44 million (£38 million) in jewellery.
More than two years on, the charismatic mastermind is making his return to television, heading back to Spanish soil for an audacious new operation: the theft of a priceless Da Vinci masterpiece.
“Beauty, danger, and pure criminal elegance,” Netflix has hinted in a succinct summary. “The gang reunites for a one-of-a-kind mission”, reports the Express.
This week’s newly unveiled trailer reveals Seville as the setting for the heist, where Berlin and his associates must stay sharp to execute their most daring job to date.
Viewers can anticipate thrills, suspense and considerable romantic intrigue as the notorious Casanova embarks on another perilous escapade. Alonso will be joined in Netflix’s Berlin sequel by returning favourites Michelle Jenner (Keila), Tristán Ulloa (Damián), Begoña Vargas (Cameron), Julio Peña Fernández (Roi) and Joel Sánchez (Bruce).
Newcomer Inma Cuesta will also feature in the series as Candela.
Following this week’s trailer release, fans have been quick to share their enthusiasm for the Money Heist prequel’s comeback, set to arrive on 15th May.
One viewer wrote in the YouTube comments: “I cant wait for this masterpiece hope to see more serials with Berlin on Netflix.
