Kevin Federline finally reveals how much money he pocketed from divorcing $60M pop star Britney Spears

Kevin Federline wrote in his new book that the money he got from his divorce with Britney Spears ‘didn’t stretch as far as you’d think.’

The 47-year-old former backup dancer was married to the 43-year-old pop star for two years, during which they welcomed sons Sean, 20, and Jayden, 19.

After Britney filed for divorce in November 2006, he was given $20,000 per month in child support for their kids.

He was granted another $20,000 per month in alimony for half the duration of their short-lived marriage.

According to a press release, Kevin’s tell-all You Thought You Knew reveals ‘extremely intimate and transparent’ details about their ‘highly publicized marriage.’

He said while promoting his album at MuchMusic in Canada, producers revealed the news of Britney’s filing, making him feel ‘ambushed.’

‘My brain just… froze. I must’ve looked like a deer in headlights, staring at the guy like he’d just spoken in tongues,’ he wrote per an excerpt shared by Too Fab.

He remembered, ‘My first thought was, “What the f*** are you talking about?” Nobody had told me… That’s how I found out.’

Despite ‘unraveling’ inside, Kevin maintained his composure in the moment.

After the public appearance, his lawyer confirmed the divorce filing and said that the media had already picked it up.

‘It was a public unraveling of my life, right in the middle of my album release,’ he penned.

Kevin continued, ‘Later, Britney claimed that she was legally advised to file for divorce before I got the chance. Her PR team thought that after the [Justin] Timberlake breakup, it would look bad if she was on the receiving end again.’

Kevin gained majority custody of Sean and Jayden in October 2007.

After 17 years, the singer’s final $20,000 child support payment to Kevin was made in November 2024.

In addition to his children with Britney, Kevin also shares daughter Kori, 23, and son Kaleb, 21, with ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson.

He’s also raising daughters Jordan, 14, and Peyton, 11, with wife Victoria Prince, whom he wed in 2013.

The father-of-six announced his book in August with a press release that read in part, ‘The public unraveling of Britney’s life and the constant attention around their family forced Kevin to balance being a father with being a protector.’

His memoir will arrive almost exactly two years after Britney published a memoir of her own, The Woman in Me.

It came out on October 23, 2023 and contained details about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake as well as her 13-year conservatorship.
