Hinterland Insurance, an independent insurance MGA and programme administrator focused on hard-to-place risks, has announced the addition of two senior leaders to its executive team, effective February 2, 2026.
Evan Krozy has been appointed Chief Underwriting Officer, and Kristine Harding will join as Executive Vice President, Commercial Package & Property, reporting to Krozy.
The appointments mark an important step as Hinterland advances plans to broaden its programmes and product suite.
Established in 2019 as a commercial property and difference in conditions (DIC) programme administrator, the company has since experienced significant growth, increased its capacity, and expanded its offerings to include monoline and package solutions, as well as excess and surplus lines coverage.
“Our goal is to continue our aggressive growth trajectory as a best-in-class specialist underwriting organisation that brings a deep understanding of the risks we write. We are focused on thoughtful and profitable growth, high-quality service and consistent execution to bring more value to our wholesaler partners,” commented Hinterland CEO Lee Glaser.
“I am thrilled to add two experienced insurance industry leaders to our team. Evan’s strategic specialty lines underwriting experience and Kristine’s expertise in developing tailored coverage structures will be invaluable in the execution of our strategy.”
In his role as Chief Underwriting Officer, Krozy will apply his extensive background in underwriting and product innovation to strengthen and expand Hinterland’s growing portfolio. He brings more than 25 years of experience across commercial lines underwriting, specialty lines, programmes, portfolio management, product development, compliance, and operations.
Most recently, he served as Chief Operations Officer at Frederick Mutual Insurance Company. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions including Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer at Ascot Group and Chief Underwriting Officer for Specialty Property at The Hanover Insurance Group.
“Hinterland is building something truly unique. The company has achieved impressive growth with its specialist approach, high-touch service and proprietary technology. All of this allows them to move quickly and decisively. I am looking forward to working with this talented team to help the company achieve its growth objectives,” added Krozy.
