Southern Co-op is offering 500 surprise giveaways as part of its festive Magical Moments campaign, with each winner receiving a free Christmas shop worth £30.

This scheme is running in Hampshire and, alongside customer giveaways, also includes support for community groups.

Simon Eastwood, chief operating officer at Southern Co-op, said: “Winter presents real challenges for many communities, and our Magical Moments campaign is all about offering tangible support when it’s needed most as well as bringing those unexpected moments of joy to people’s day.”

The campaign is combined with £75,000 in funding for local charities, foodbanks, and community organisations through Southern Co-op’s 2025 Winter Fund.

The fund, delivered in partnership with community giving platform Neighbourly, will provide 50 grants of £1,500 to groups offering warm spaces and food support during the colder months.

Now in its third year, the Winter Fund has supported more than 100 causes since 2023.

Mr Eastwood said: “From backing local groups doing vital work via our Winter Fund, to helping customers shoulder the cost of Christmas with free festive shops, we look forward to celebrating this special time of year with our colleagues and our customers in Hampshire by giving a little back.”
