Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 prize money and purses

British boxing star Conor Benn has already leaked the official fight purse ahead of his rematch with Chris Eubank Jr later this evening

Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr are set to be rewarded handsomely for their efforts ahead of their rematch this evening.

The pair will lock horns once again at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London – seven months after their initial showdown. Their initial grudge saw the two stars trade leather for 12 rounds. Despite enjoying a lot of success early doors, Benn ended up falling short after suffering a points defeat to his rival.

Both men were seemingly scheduled to clash again in September, but Eubank Jr insisted he would not be ready. The Brit’s comments plunged the rematch into doubt, but the two teams were eventually able to strike a deal. With the rematch just hours away, both fighters are anticipated to pocket hefty paydays.

Before their first bout, it was reported that the total purse was a staggering £15million, equally divided between the two British boxers, netting each a cool £7.5million – the largest payouts of their careers.

The Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn rematch is set for Saturday, November 15, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Fans can order the fight on DAZN PPV for £24.99 or watch it free with a DAZN Ultimate plan.

It seems they are set to earn even more for the second round. In a chat with Boxing King Media earlier this year, Benn hinted at the fight purse. When asked about concerns over Eubank Jr’s weight cut, Benn retorted: “I do not care about him. I do not care about him cutting weight. He is getting paid an absolute fortune. People do that for ten grand, he is getting paid ten million.” According to various reports, a 60/40 split in the prize fund will be in place. With the official pot at £18m, Benn is expected to pocket £8m in the rematch with Eubank Jr.

Their initial encounter had plenty of dramas after Eubank Jr failed to make weight by 0.05lbs just 24 hours before the fight and was subsequently fined £375,000 ($500,000). The hefty fined lined the pockets of Benn – who ended up buying a luxurious Rolls-Royce car.

Earlier this week, Benn seemingly took a swipe at his rival’s weight struggles. “Looking well,” Benn said. “Bit slim around the cheekbones. “I’m slightly hoping you miss weight again, just a little bit. Just a pound. Just a little bit. That would be nice. Nice little gift from you last time. I’m hoping you’re well recovered. Have you got 10 toes? 10 toenails?” Benn’s witty remark about his upcoming foe’s toenails referred to Eubank Jr’s claim that one of his toenails fell off due to severe dehydration before their first fight.

Despite being proud of making history in April – and is expected to do so again this evening – Benn is targeting further success, but back in his natural weight class, and admits the grudge rematch with Eubank Jr will be his last at middleweight as he bids to become a world champion, as well as taking part in major money fights.

“I think Chris will retire after this fight,” the 29-year-old told Sky Sports. “He’s fighting a welterweight. Just look at the landscape. He isn’t going to stay at 160lbs and fight a Janibek [Alimkhanuly] or a [Hamzah] Sheeraz, for half the money. It doesn’t make sense. He’s fighting a welterweight. I’ll drop back down to welterweight and carry on pursuing my goals and dreams at 147. This is my final fight at 160.”

He added: “My goal is to win a world title at welterweight. Right now my goal is to get back down to welterweight. I have the best team, nutritionist, a chef to get back down to 147. I’m going to the WBC convention in Thailand straight after the fight to get that sorted. There’s plenty of world title opportunities for me to get, whether it’s Barrios, [Ryan] Garcia, Rolly Romero, these are the fights that are being talked about after the fight, straightaway. Brian Norman, any of these guys. I’ll fight any of these guys.”

When is Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr II?

Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn will go head-to-head for a second time on Saturday, November 15. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London will once again play host to the event. Official timings are still under wraps – but it’s expected that the undercard will kick off at around 5pm UK time. For the main event, the ringwalks are anticipated to happen at approximately 9:50pm UK time. The bout will be broadcast live and exclusively on DAZN pay-per-view.
