Japan companies issue shorter dated bonds as rate hike looms

TOKYO — Investors in Japan are showing a growing preference for short- and medium-term corporate bonds with predictable yields, while companies there are also shifting toward shorter bonds for their relative ease of issuance, as speculation grows about a rate hike by the Bank of Japan.
