Ukrainian forces struck the Saratov oil refinery on the night of October 15-16.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in a Facebook post seen by Ukrinform.

The Saratov refinery is one of Russia’s oldest oil-processing facilities. As of 2023, it processed 4.8 million tonnes of crude oil annually. The plant is involved in supplying fuel for the Russian armed forces.

The General Staff stressed that Ukrainian forces are systematically carrying out a series of operations targeting critical components of Russia’s military-industrial base to deprive it of the capability to continue its aggression.

On the night of October 12-13, drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Special Operations Forces struck the Feodosia marine oil terminal and several electrical substations in temporarily occupied Crimea. Eleven storage tanks at the oil depot were damaged, ten of which contained fuel.
