An explosion without fire occurred on Monday afternoon at the Lukoil oil refinery in the Romanian city of Ploiesti.
It was reported by “European Truth”.
“The explosion, which was not accompanied by a fire, occurred in the premises of the economic operator located on Mihai Bravu Street, Ploiesti municipality. We intervened with a mobile intensive care team to assess, treat and transport a 57-year-old man who was conscious, with craniofacial trauma and injury to the left lower extremity,” according to the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Prahova.
The victim was picked up and taken to the Ploiesti Emergency Department.
The explosion occurred on the territory of the Petrotel Lukoil oil refinery, law enforcement agencies said.
Authorities confirmed that the business entity’s field of activity is the production and distribution of oil products.
At this time, the refinery’s platform is undergoing overhaul work, which began a few days ago.
