FOXBORO ― Several SouthCoast companies were recently honored at the 10th annual Manufacturing Awards Ceremony at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

The event, hosted by the Massachusetts Legislative Manufacturing Caucus, the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing and the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership, recognized companies for their leadership in the manufacturing industry, according to a community announcement.

The awards ceremony, held during the Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-Up, highlighted manufacturers that exemplify what it means to “make it in Massachusetts” and contribute to the industry’s growth and innovation.

SouthCoast companies recognized

The SouthCoast companies honored with the “Making it in Massachusetts” Manufacturing Award were IQE KC of Taunton, Crue Brew Brewery of Raynham, Nantucket Pavers of Rehoboth, Matouk of Fall River, Horacio’s of New Bedford, Proto XYZ of New Bedford, Pinehill Equipment of Westport, North Atlantic Corp. of Somerset, and Village Signs of Mattapoisett.

The Manufacturing Caucus, formed in August 2014, includes more than 60 legislators from across the state. The caucus focuses on training for manufacturing employees, encouraging innovation by helping startups access resources and expanding apprenticeship opportunities in key manufacturing sectors. It is chaired by Rep. Jeffrey Roy, D-Franklin, and Sen. Paul Feeney, D-Foxboro.

The Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-Up, where the awards were presented, is a conference run by the Center for Advanced Manufacturing to kick off October’s manufacturing month. The event offers opportunities for partners and industry to come together to accelerate advanced manufacturing and celebrate successes in the state.

Manufacturing is a key industry in Massachusetts

“Our state is a hub of manufacturing and innovation,” Senate President Karen Spilka said in the announcement. “From materials manufacturers that ship products globally, to nurseries that bring beauty to homes and businesses, to breweries and distilleries — these are products made with unmatched skill and pride here in Massachusetts. Congratulations to each of the awardees, and my deep thanks to Senator Paul Feeney for his leadership of the Manufacturing Caucus, to Representative Roy, and to all the members who raise their voices on behalf of our manufacturers every day.”

Manufacturing is a key industry in Massachusetts

“Massachusetts manufacturers are central to our economic strength, our competitiveness and our identity as a state that builds what’s next,” Economic Development Secretary Eric Paley said in the announcement. “The companies recognized today demonstrate the strength of Team Massachusetts and how investments in innovation, skilled workers and strong regional partnerships continue to drive growth in every corner of the Commonwealth.”

The awards ceremony recognized 69 manufacturers for their contributions to the state’s economy.

“I was proud to join my colleagues in recognizing 69 Massachusetts Manufacturers for their outstanding contributions to our Commonwealth’s economy,” Roy said. “Their innovation, craftsmanship, and dedication to job creation, strengthens our communities, and ensures that Massachusetts remains a leader in advanced manufacturing. All of these companies, like my nominee Dale Medical, exemplify what it means to make it in Massachusetts.”
