Nexer appoints manufacturing industry lead

Digital transformation specialist Nexer Enterprise Applications has appointed Matt Birtwistle as manufacturing industry lead, strengthening its consultancy capability within the manufacturing sector.

Matt joins Nexer from HSO, where he spent more than seven years advising on complex Microsoft ERP and digital transformation programmes for large, highly regulated manufacturing organisations.

He brings more than 30 years’ experience across manufacturing sub-sectors including engineering, chemicals, food and beverage, life sciences and automotive, alongside long-standing experience within the Microsoft partner ecosystem.

In his new role, Matt will lead Nexer’s manufacturing strategy, focusing on winning new manufacturing clients, expanding relationships with existing customers and ensuring sales activity remains closely aligned with delivery quality and long-term outcomes.

Matt said: “Manufacturers are under growing pressure to move faster, but many remain constrained by systems and processes that make transformation slow, expensive or high risk and lack the intel to boost forecasting and productivity.

“Nexer’s agility and outcome focus stood out to me – particularly its emphasis on helping manufacturers start where it matters most, build momentum quickly, and realise tangible value from technology in a practical, phased way.”

Matt’s appointment supports Nexer’s continued focus on helping UK manufacturers improve agility, resilience and efficiency through Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions, as the sector navigates increasing regulatory and operational pressures.

Martin Burden, managing director at Nexer Enterprise Applications in the UK, added: “Matt brings extensive manufacturing expertise and a strong track record delivering complex Microsoft transformation programmes at scale.

“His experience will be instrumental as we strengthen our position in UK manufacturing and help customers modernise with greater speed, confidence and control.”
