(ABC 6 News) — A new report released Tuesday showed a growing number of Minnesota manufacturers are questioning some state and federal policies that are increasing the costs for Minnesota businesses.
The annual State of Manufacturing survey took the pulse of Minnesota’s manufacturing industry, highlighting trends and concerns statewide.
This year’s report showed growing unease about the state’s business climate, Minnesota’s paid family leave, and uncertainty over federal tariffs.
“There’s optimism that the economy is flat but not in a recessionary. That’s up from the last year, coming out of Covid, but I think in the end, a lot of the manufactures realize that despite these challenges going on, there’s something different every year or two that is outside of their control, and let’s focus on the things they can control,” said Bob Kill, the president and CEO of Enterprise Minnesota.
53% of manufacturing executives say Minnesota’s business climate has worsened. In southern Minnesota, government policies and taxes top the list of concerns.
