JAKARTA – The East Jakarta Metro Police held a large-scale Cipkon and KRYD patrol. This operation aims to reduce the crime rate in the area.

The cases anticipated include robbery to fights between teenagers which often occur in several areas.

“This patrol activity is carried out as a preventive measure to anticipate street crime and provide a sense of security to the community at night and early morning,” said Head of Public Relations of the East Jakarta Metro Police, Ipda Jery, in Jakarta, quoting ANTARA on Sunday, May 24.

The patrol was carried out on Saturday (23/5) night until Sunday morning.

This activity is carried out to anticipate acts of theft of motor vehicles (curanmor), robbery, juvenile fights, and various other forms of street crime.

The patrol began with a readiness appeal held at 23.00 WIB in the yard of the East Jakarta Metro Police.

Apel was led by the Head of Operations of the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP M. Agung Julianto, accompanied by accompanying officers involving as many as 78 joint personnel.

After the apple, the personnel immediately moved to patrol and stand by at a number of points considered prone to disturbances of public security and order (kamtibmas).

Several locations that are the focus of security include the area in front of the Jatinegara Basura Mall, the East Canal Flood Bridge (BKT) Jalan Pahlawan Revolusi, the Al-Falah Klender Foundation, to the Integrated Post for Protecting the Capital in the Kebon Singkong area, Duren Sawit.

In addition to monitoring at vulnerable points, officers also combed a number of major roads in East Jakarta.

The patrol route includes the Jatinegara area, Basuki Rahmat Street, Jalan Pahlawan Revolusi, Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Jalan Bekasi Timur Raya, until returning to the East Jakarta Metro Police Command Headquarters.

“Of course this is to reduce the number of street crimes that often occur at night until dawn,” said Jery.

According to him, large-scale patrols are also a form of police presence in the community to prevent potential disturbances of kamtibmas from an early stage.

With regular patrols and increased surveillance at vulnerable points, Jery hopes that the security situation in East Jakarta will remain conducive.

During the activity, officers also monitored the activities of the community that still took place at night, including monitoring groups of teenagers who had the potential to commit fights or wild racing.

The East Jakarta Metro Police also appealed to the public to play an active role in maintaining neighborhood security by immediately reporting if they find criminal acts or kamtibmas disturbances around their residence.

Residents can contact the 110 Police Service, which is on standby 24 hours a day, to receive complaints and emergency reports related to security situations in the East Jakarta Metro Police jurisdiction.

Patroli Cipkon and KRYD themselves are routine police activities that continue to be improved as an effort to maintain security stability, especially on weekends which are considered to have higher potential for vulnerability than usual days.
