The Weekender

It’s a question that has been baffling social media users over the past few days: where is Katie Price’s husband, Lee Andrews?

Price, who married Andrews in January days after meeting him, said they last spoke on Wednesday night as he tried to leave Dubai and has been unable to reach him since.

The former glamour model shared her fears that he has been “kidnapped” and claimed he was “detained in a van with his hands tied”.

Now a Foreign Office spokesperson has said: “We are supporting the family of a British man and are in contact with the local authorities.”

As the story continues to take strange turns, we have broken down everything we know so far?

What has happened to Lee Andrews?

Mystery surrounds Andrews’ whereabouts after Price said she had not heard from him since Wednesday.

The TV star said her husband left a voicenote saying he needed an “exit stamp” to leave Dubai to get a flight to see Price.

Price last spoke to him on Wednesday when she says he had “ties around his hand and was in a van” and his location tracker subsequently went off.

She first publicly raised concerns about Andrews’ whereabouts on Saturday, May 16 in a YouTube video.

“I don’t really know where to begin but I know there’s all this speculation about Lee from when I met him,” she said.

“Something really, really serious has happened.”

She explained that although she had previously shared on Instagram that Andrews was “taking time out of socials” following recent trolling, she said the reality was that he had now been missing “for three days”.

“The last time I heard from Lee was Wednesday night at 10pm, he was trying to go through the border in Dubai to get on a flight to me,” she said.

“We are wondering if he’s been kidnapped; he’s definitely a missing person now.”

Are any local authorities involved?

The Dubai Criminal Investigation Department is reportedly searching for Andrews, but no record of him being detained in any prison or police station has been found, leading Price to speculate about a kidnapping.

A UK Foreign Office spokesperson has said: “We are supporting the family of a British man and are in contact with the local authorities.”

Andrews’ father Peter told the Daily Mail that his son had been locked up in a Dubai prison.

The businessman, who is reportedly in Dubai, told the newspaper: “Lee is OK. He has not been kidnapped but he is under arrest. I don’t know on what charge.

“I’m not sure where he is being held. But he will call me later today.”

The chief of Dubai Police Brigadier Khalid Khalifa al Avadhi also told the publication: “There are many cases against him.”

However, Price hit back at the claims, labelling them “fake news”.

She wrote on her Instagram story: “Lee is still missing. Me and his family know what’s going on and working with the authorities involved.”

What are his last messages to Price?

On Tuesday, Price shared the last messages she received from Andrews before he stopped communicating with her, with the first message reading: “Been arrested, I’ll be in touch I’m ok xx”.

He later clarified that he had actually been detained, adding: “It’s a black site, I love you, I sort it. I’m in the van… just being detained wtf.”

A black site is a facility which is used to detain and interrogate outside of the country’s normal legal jurisdiction.

Andrews then asked Price to track his location, saying: “Keep that on babe, love you”.

Has he been active on social media since?

A day after sending his last messages to Price, The Apprentice star Luisa Zissman claimed that Andrews’ Facebook account had been active just hours before, but Price later claimed she had access to his account.

Andrews, who lives in Dubai, married Price in a whirlwind ceremony in January .

The pair became engaged before tying the knot days later, formally registering their marriage on February 17.

According to his Instagram, Lee Andrews is the CEO of Åura Group, which according to LinkedIn – is all about sustainable vehicles.

He faced claims of using fabricated images of Kim Kardashian And Elon Musk to promote his business.

He has face allegations he is a conman, that he has strenuously denied.

Andrews has been the subject of reports that he is unable to leave the United Arab Emirates.

The Daily Mail previously reported that Andrews was banned from leaving Dubai after allegedly spending three weeks in a UAE jail over claims he forged an ex-girlfriend’s signature to secure a £200,000 loan. It was further alleged that he applied for a mortgage in his ex’s name without her consent. Andrews has denied the claims.

She has reportedly filed a legal case against him.
