The pros and cons of trading index options vs. stock options Index options and stock options are quite similar, but there are quite notable differences. For instance, with an index option, traders know for a fact whether the position is long or short the market. On the other hand, traders utilizing stock (or equity) options are not dependent on a full market outlook and are instead focused on predicting the direction of a specific underlying stock or equity. It is common to confuse the index options and stock options and to assume all options are the same, especially for those…

Mexico attracted a record US $40.87 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2025, a 10.8% year-on-year increase, the Economy Ministry (SE) reported on Wednesday. In a press release, the SE said the growth — based on originally published figures — reflects a growth trend for the fifth consecutive year. “Mexico is positioning itself as a strategic destination for global productive capital, in an environment in which FDI flows to developing economies showed a 2% drop in 2025,” it said. The data indicates the United States remained Mexico’s principal investment partner, generating FDI flows of US $15.88 billion, 38.8% of…
The regulator will prioritise access to insurance, improving consumer understanding and service quality in the insurance market, it has said. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) released the first of its nine regulatory priorities for the year and the work it will be undertaking. The regulator will publish reports for the mortgage sector in March, as well as investments, pensions, wholesale, payments, consumer finance and retail banking. The FCA said each report would help firms to understand what is expected, strengthen compliance, support innovation and deliver better outcomes for consumers. It said firms should consider which priorities and recommendations apply to them…
The total inventory of silver has decreased approximately 31% from 532 million ounces at October 2025 to 366.25 million ounces as of February 20. More importantly, registered stocks (the amount of silver that can actually be delivered against futures contracts) have fallen under 90 million ounces, which is a psychological level, to just above 88 million ounces. This is significant because open interest is currently more than 400% of the available registered stock, creating an extremely worrisome paper-to-physical imbalance, with a very real possibility of a liquidity event should contract holders start demanding delivery in earnest. March Could Be the…

Research shows under 40s are more likely to be pulling back from the market despite overall market optimism. Trader optimism toward the markets softened early this year, with younger investors driving a notable shift toward caution even as most active traders remain inclined to deploy capital during downturns, according to new research. The first quarter 2026 Trader Sentiment Survey from Charles Schwab found that 52% of respondents described themselves as bullish on markets, down from 57% at the end of 2025. The retreat in confidence spanned multiple age groups but was most pronounced among traders under age 40, whose bullish…
Rental insurance has become a top priority for letting agents and landlords who are “racing” to take out policies, according to lettings platform Goodlord. The imminent introduction of the Renters’ Rights Act in May is “focusing minds across the sector”, the proptech firm says. Major jump There was a 41% increase in demand for rental insurance products between September and December last year. And this major jump in demand coincided with the Renters’ Rights Bill securing Royal Assent on 27 October. We saw an absolute explosion in rent protection demand as soon as the Bill cleared the final stages.” Oli…
The international financial system is moving into a new era, which is being called “The Stablecoin Sovereignty Era.” Countries are questioning the supremacy of the US dollar, but simultaneously, digital dollars in the form of stablecoins are growing at an unprecedented rate. This is a very contradictory situation. Are we seeing the beginnings of de-dollarization, or are we moving into a new era of digital dollarization? At first, de-dollarization appears to mean that countries are attempting to decrease their reliance on the US dollar for trade, for reserves, and for international payments. However, digital dollarization paints a very different picture, one…
Mine Supply Weakness and Recycling Constraints The production remains the most significant issue in 2025. Global refined output dropped to 1.45 million ounces in Q2 2025, down from 1.54 million in Q2 2024. South Africa, the world’s top producer, was hit by heavy rainfall in Q1, and Q2 output still came in 8% below 2024 levels. The WPIC expects South Africa’s total mine supply to fall 6% this year. On the other hand, analysts forecast a 4% decline in Zimbabwe and a 26% drop in North America. However, they expect Russia to see a minor 1% increase. Meanwhile, the recycling…
