Vacant North Devon site could be transformed into modern light industrial units

It is also possible that they may be used for storage and distribution or indoor sport

A plan to create new modern light industrial units has been put forward for North Devon Business Park. The site, in Chivnenor, is currently a vacant development plot on Tinever Road.

The applicant, Ian Shepherd of Halfmoon Pension Scheme and the St Francis Group stated: “The proposed building will be a speculative mixed use light industrial development. The building has been designed to be split into separate units of varying sizes. Although it is expected that these units would be used for light industrial activities and office use, it is also possible that they may be used for storage and distribution or indoor sport.”

“Therefore, the application seeks permission for multiple uses to provide some flexibility in the use of the building thus allowing them to be made available to a wider and more diverse range of businesses. This will help towards achieving a successful development with high occupancy levels.”

The total site area is approximately 3645m2 and will be accessed from the highway Tinever Road via a new industrial access road. The proposed building will be located alongside the north boundary with space reserved for a second building to be developed at a later date along the east boundary.
