Critical Issues in Transportation for 2024 and Beyond

The TRB Executive Committee will prepare a new version of Critical Issues in Transportation. Critical issues are defined as long-term transportation problems or questions that are major policy issues, or are expected to be major issues during the next decade. They are issues that are national or global in scope and importance. The list will identify priority topics for innovation, research, and policy resolution, but will not include recommendations. TRB will publicize the list for the transportation community, and the public; use it for strategic planning; and use it to guide TRB’s future programs, research, and studies.
