AI can’t replace human creativity, emotional intelligence: Kumaraswamy | Ahmedabad News

Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H D Kumaraswamy on Saturday said that artificial intelligence, robotics and blockchain will redefine industries but cannot replace human creativity, ethics and emotional intelligence.

“We live in a nation where artificial intelligence, data science and automation are shaping the world. But as we advance, let us ensure that artificial intelligence is guided by human intelligence and that compassion remains the core of all creations,” he said. He was speaking at the first convocation of Gandhinagar University in Kalol.

Describing the National Education Policy 2020 as a historic reform, Kumaraswamy said it encourages critical thinking, creativity and innovation by blending traditional Indian wisdom with modern knowledge systems.

Remembering the two great sons of the soil Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Kumaraswamy said that their lives remind us that the true strength of the Indian education system lies in satya, ahimsa, seva and karuna. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always believed that education is the foundation of a developed India — a viksit bharat,” he said.

“The 21st century belongs to those who learn, unlearn and re-learn. Skills are the new wealth of nations,” he said.

Established in 2006 as Gandhinagar institute of technology, and became a state private university in 2022,  Gandhinagar University stands today as a research oriented University with over 9,000 students, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr Kamalesh V N said 37 graduate degrees and six  doctorates were conferred during the first convocation ceremony. “The university has a 96% placement record this year and has filed more than 40 patents,” he said.
