Invertek Drives was presented with The King’s Award for Enterprise – International Trade 2025 at its headquarters at the Buttington Cross business park.
The award was presented by Tia Jones, Lord Lieutenant of Powys, and Vice Lord Lieutenant Tony Evans, and comes after the company grew overseas sales by 149 per cent growth in six years, despite facing challenges such as Brexit, Covid, and supply chain disruptions.
Exports now account for 95 per cent of the company’s total sales.
Lord Lieutenant Tia Jones said: “It is an honour to present The King’s Award for Enterprise to Invertek Drives.
“This award recognises the company’s exceptional achievements in international trade and its contribution to the reputation of Welsh businesses on the global stage.”

Invertek’s Optidrive range of variable frequency drives used globally to improve electric motor performance, reduce energy consumption, and lower carbon emissions across several industries, including manufacturing, HVAC, water treatment, and renewable energy.

Since its acquisition by Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd in 2019, Invertek has expanded its global presence with wholly-owned subsidiaries in the USA, Spain, Germany, and Poland, all supported by a worldwide partner network.
The company also recently completed a significant expansion of its UK production and distribution facility to meet the growing international demand.
