SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Goodwill Industries of Southeast Georgia is celebrating 60 years of service to the community with expanded workforce development programs and plans for a new opportunity campus.
The organization operates as a 98% self-funded nonprofit, supporting free services through revenue from donated goods sold in retail stores and other business operations.
“People in our community don’t realize they think about Goodwill and they think about the dough, the shopping, more than sometimes even more than donations. But let’s remind them about the good work you all doing because people are bringing those donations in and because people are shopping day after day.”
Jason Marshall, president and CEO, has been with Goodwill for 31 years across three locations. He joined the Savannah team in 2018 as chief operating officer and became president and CEO last year.
Holly Schor, chief mission officer, has 15 years with Goodwill across three territories, including previous roles in Maryland and Phoenix, Arizona.
Both joined WTOC’s Dawn Baker on Welcome to Our Community to talk about the legacy of Goodwill in southeast Georgia.
