India and Russia have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key industrial sectors, including rail transport, the manufacture of regional aircraft and the extraction of critical minerals. This was reported by
IANS, a partner of TV BRICS.

The parties discussed new areas of cooperation in rail transport, including infrastructure development, Russia’s participation in a high-speed rail project and the supply of signalling equipment.

In addition, the meeting participants considered cooperation in the fields of unmanned aerial vehicles, 3D printing, the production of a Russian regional aircraft capable of carrying 103 passengers, and aircraft engines. Particular attention was paid to carbon fibre production technologies and propulsion systems.

Another area of discussion was cooperation in the minerals and raw materials sector. The parties discussed critical minerals, lithium extraction, titanium processing technologies and the exploration of rare-earth elements. The agenda included the development of the aluminium industry, the supply of mining equipment and geological exploration.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the field of mineral fertilisers. Discussions centred on the supply of diammonium phosphate (DAP) and nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK) fertilisers, as well as the prospects for joint urea production.

During the meeting, discussions centred on automation, modern industrial modernisation, science and technology, the aerospace sector, railway infrastructure, the chemical industry, renewable energy, power engineering, industrial infrastructure and the development of mining equipment.

Following the meeting, the Indian and Russian sides signed the minutes of the 12th Session of the Working Group, reaffirming the strategic nature of their partnership and their intention to deepen industrial and economic cooperation.

Around 60 representatives from both countries took part in the meeting. The Indian delegation was led by Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, while the Russian delegation was led by Aleksey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce.
