A government jet took off at about 10:30 this morning for Dubai to bring Daniel Kinahan back to Ireland.
The plane is due to touch down in the United Arab Emirates this evening.
A high-security operation has been meticulously planned to bring Daniel Kinahan back to Ireland to face a charge of directing organised crime, including during the Kinahan-Hutch feud.
The 49-year-old was arrested in Dubai in April and has since lost an appeal against his extradition.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, the government jet is due to land at Baldonnell Aerodrome tomorrow afternoon.
From there, Daniel Kinahan is set to be brought straight to the Criminal Courts of Justice under a heavy, armed escort.
