The latest strike has disrupted a vital energy chain in eastern Ukraine, while a rising tally of attacks raises fresh concerns about resilience.

According to Naftogaz Group, 7 production assets of Ukrnafta JSC in eastern Ukraine came under a massive Russian attack on the night of August 7.

During Russia’s massive attack on the night of August 7, seven production assets of JSC Ukrnafta came under fire in the east of the country.

According to the Naftogaz Group, the attack affected seven assets involved in oil and gas production in the east of the country.

The enemy launched a massive attack on Ukrnafta facilities, which is part of the Naftogaz Group. Seven assets involved in oil and gas production in the east of the country came under attack overnight.

The strike destroyed equipment that is critical to operations. This led to the shutdown of several facilities and the loss of significant production volumes. No employees were injured.

Over the past day, the enemy also attacked four Ukrnafta filling stations in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. No customers or employees were injured.

According to the Naftogaz Group, since the beginning of 2026, Russia has carried out 287 attacks on Naftogaz Group facilities – more than in the whole of 2025. This escalation in strikes is increasing the need for financial support for Naftogaz.

Consequences and attack trends

The continuing pace of the attacks highlights the vulnerability of production chains in the east of the country and the need for enhanced protection of these assets. The company continues to assess the damage and strengthen technical and defensive measures to minimize the impact of similar strikes.

Overall, the situation in the region remains tense, while the increase in attacks underscores the need for continued monitoring and a prompt response from the company and its partners.
