KATHMANDU: The Consulate General of Nepal in Dubai held consultations with representatives of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Nepali community organisations and other associations in the UAE on Friday ahead of completing its first year of operation.
According to the Consulate General, discussions focused on service delivery, passport and consular services, protection of migrant workers’ interests, emergency assistance and issues concerning the Nepali community.
Representatives of various organisations suggested measures to make consular services more effective, accessible and community-friendly.
On the occasion, Consul General Hari Prasad Odari said the suggestions would serve as valuable guidance and thanked participants for their feedback. He also pledged to continue close cooperation with the Nepali community.
The Government of Nepal established the Consulate General in Dubai to provide easier access to consular services and safeguard the interests of Nepali nationals, particularly those living in Dubai and the northern emirates of the UAE.
The Consulate General provides services including passport renewal, travel permits, document authentication, labour-related assistance and emergency consular support.
