Emirates accepts crypto payments for UAE residents

Emirates now lets UAE residents pay for flights using Crypto.com wallets via its website and app. The feature, live since July 2026, is limited to AED transactions. It’s part of Dubai’s push for 90% digital financial activity by year-end.

Eligible UAE residents can select Crypto.com Pay during checkout on emirates.com or the Emirates App. Desktop users scan a QR code; mobile users switch to the Crypto.com app to authorize payment. Bookings must be priced and settled in AED. The integration uses Crypto.com’s licensed Dubai entity, approved by the UAE Central Bank.

This rollout fulfills a 2025 partnership agreement between Emirates and Crypto.com. It supports Dubai’s D33 Economic Agenda to digitize 90% of local transactions by 2026. Expansion beyond UAE residents and AED is not yet confirmed but remains a likely future step.

Why it matters

UAE residents can now use crypto to book flights without converting to fiat, saving time and fees. Non-residents miss out for now, but future expansion could reshape how global travelers pay for Emirates services.
