KUCHING, July 20: AirBorneo’s Flight MY5004 from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching was delayed today due to a technical issue, with the airline assuring that safety remained its top priority.

In a statement issued today, the State-owned carrier said the delay was necessary to allow the technical error to be rectified before the aircraft departed.

The flight eventually left Kuala Lumpur at 7.30pm after the issue was resolved, enabling affected passengers to continue their journey to Kuching.

Throughout the delay, AirBorneo said its team provided passengers with regular updates, meals and refreshments, as well as the necessary assistance to ensure their comfort and well-being.

The airline apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked affected passengers for their patience, understanding and cooperation.

“Safety remains our highest priority.

“Our company remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety while delivering safe and reliable services to its passengers,” it said.

The delay came on the same day AirBorneo launched its inaugural commercial jet services between Kuching and Kuala Lumpur, marking the airline’s entry into commercial jet operations. — DayakDaily
