India and Pakistan will face each other in their opening game at the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup from Group A on Sunday.

The group includes Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh and the Netherlands, and only the top two nations from this pool qualify for the semis, so any group game could be crucial.

India have never lifted the trophy but did make the final at the 2020 edition of the tournament, whereas Pakistan have never managed to go past the group stage of the event.

The Indian women’s team beat their Pakistani counterparts at the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup in Dubai but both sides went on to face group-stage exits.

What time does India vs Pakistan kick off?

The 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan will be played at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham, England.

It will kick off at 2:30 p.m. local time (BST), which translates to 7:00 p.m. IST on Sunday, June 14, in India.

India maintain most of the squad members who won the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, led by Harmanpreet Kaur (captain) and Smriti Mandhana (vice-captain), along with Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh at the top of the batting order.

Four debutantes are also expected in India’s squad, namely Bharti Fulmali, Nandani Sharma, Shree Charani and Kranti Gaud.

There were a few important selections missed due to injury concerns, specifically all-rounder Amanjot Kaur and pacer Kashvee Gautam.

All-round player Fatima Sana will lead Pakistan for a second time after smashing the fastest 50 in Women’s T20I cricket history.

The team named in the Women in Green squad features five players making their World Cup debut: Eyman Fatima, Natalia Pervaiz, Rameen Shamim, Saira Jabeen and Tasmia Rubab.
