Shahril Nizam Joins DAMA Kuala Lumpur & Selangor as Associate Director, Programs & Operations

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, May 2026 — Shahril Nizam has started a new journey as Associate Director, Programs & Operations at DAMA Kuala Lumpur & Selangor, while continuing his leadership trajectory in the technology and digital space. This appointment marks a significant step in his growing career at the intersection of data management, digital transformation, and operational leadership.

In his new role at DAMA Kuala Lumpur & Selangor, Nizam will contribute to advancing world-class data management practices, strengthening the data community, and supporting Malaysia’s transformation into a data-driven nation through leadership in programs, operations, and strategic engagement.

Alongside this appointment, Nizam continues his role at Telekom Malaysia, where he currently serves as Manager, Technology & Business Consultant 2, Group IT & Digital. In this position, he leads IT-as-a-Service initiatives, aligns technology services with enterprise business objectives, drives governance compliance, and supports scalable digital transformation programs.

Prior to this, he served as Assistant Manager, Data Scientist 2 at Telekom Malaysia, where he developed advanced analytics, machine learning solutions, predictive insights, customer segmentation frameworks, and scalable data products that supported strategic business decisions across customer experience and IT operations.

Earlier in his career, Nizam built strong technical and operational expertise through research consulting roles at Multimedia University, where he developed intelligent dashboards, AI-powered analytics systems, and deep learning-based operational tools. His diverse background also includes exposure across banking, customer service, content development, event management, engineering, and youth leadership initiatives.

His broad experience across technology, data science, operations, digital consulting, and community leadership positions him strongly to support DAMA Malaysia’s mission of building a trusted, globally connected data management ecosystem.
