7 most beautiful homes in Delhi loved by AD Editors

Delhi’s most beautiful homes are not always about grandeur and opulence. Collected histories, art-filled nooks, inherited nostalgia, and spaces bursting with memory are often what define them. These homes capture the evolving luxury language of the city by celebrating restored antiques, forgotten heritage, contemporary details, and craftsmanship. From crafty bungalows to collectors’ wonderlands influenced across generations, each home expresses a story strongly associated with the capital city and its culture. Curated from some of AD’s most memorable home stories, this guide celebrates spaces that stand apart for their aesthetics, but more vitally for the richness and authenticity they embody.

The Wadhwani Residence In Satish Gujral’s Signature Style

Delhi’s urban cacophony begins to fade as you drive deeper into Dera Mandi, a neighbourhood near Chhatarpur along the rocky Aravallis. A pathway, overgrown with bougainvillea, leads to a formidable entrance, revealing a darwaza and a dome, grounded in Mughal and Islamic spatial traditions. This is Mexx Farm, an 18-acre estate that houses six residential properties. Designed by the multi-hyphenate Satish Gujral and his son, architect Mohit Gujral, it showcases the former’s signature style in layers.

The Wadhwani residence at Mexx Farm was conceived in 1990, but its story can be traced back to the 1980s. “It was a village with no shops, no petrol pumps and no hospitals,” recalls Pushpa Wadhwani, wife of the late Ravi Wadhwani, an ex-Mexx executive. Construction, naturally, took longer than anticipated. The fort-like house, drenched in terracotta, is transfixing. The breeze is inviting, and so are the surrounding gardens, alive with clusters of trees and plants.
