Pioneering Engineering Leader Joins to Drive Product Development & Lead Rippling’s Largest Engineering Hub Outside San Francisco

BENGALURU, India, April 14, 2026–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Rippling, a leading workforce management company valued at $16.8 billion, announced the appointment of Sonia Parandekar as Senior Vice President of Engineering and head of its Bengaluru site, a critical hub powering Rippling’s global product expansion.

As Rippling scales its unified platform across HR, IT, and finance, the company is investing heavily in world-class engineering leadership to accelerate product development and deepen its global footprint. Bengaluru has become central to that strategy, now serving as Rippling’s largest engineering presence outside of San Francisco and a key driver of innovation across its product portfolio.

In her role, Parandekar will lead engineering for Rippling’s Bengaluru office and help scale the company’s global product and infrastructure capabilities. She brings more than two decades of engineering leadership experience across multinational enterprises, high-growth startups, and the full spectrum of the US–India technology corridor. This rare combination makes her uniquely suited to lead Rippling’s global engineering expansion. She has led engineering across Microsoft, Groupon, and Urban Ladder before joining Atlassian as its first R&D hire in Bengaluru, where she scaled the Commerce and Marketplace platforms to billions in revenue.

The company surpassed 1,000 employees in India and last year opened a second 100,000 square foot office at Embassy Tech Village housing engineering, product, sales, and customer support teams. Since launching in India in 2017, Rippling has hired more than 20 former founders and entrepreneurs to strengthen its leadership bench and plans to double its India workforce to 2,000 employees over the next three years, a trajectory that underscores how central the Bengaluru hub has become to the company’s global ambitions.

“Sonia has a track record of advancing complex systems and building exceptional teams,” said Albert Strasheim, Chief Technology Officer at Rippling. “As we continue to expand the platform, we need leaders who can operate with both speed and precision. Sonia brings exactly that.”

“Rippling is building one of the most ambitious platforms in enterprise software,” said Parandekar. “The opportunity to contribute to both the product and the engineering organization globally — and to do it from Bengaluru, a city I know well — is incredibly compelling.”

About Rippling:
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, Payroll, IT, and Spend – globally. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system. Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.8B from the world’s top investors – including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, and Bedrock.
