Young Eagles soar above Greene County for Aviation Day | Community

Scott Blair became a Young Eagle, along with his brother Joseph, 8, and Bailey Burkett, 9, at Aviation Day Aug. 19 at the Greene County Airport. L. Rex Lake is one of the pilots with Experimental Aircraft Association 842 of Fairmont, W.Va., who offered free plane rides to children to introduce them to the fun of flight and to help recruit a new generation of pilots. In the last 20 years, the association has given more than 2,100 kids their first airplane ride. The next Young Eagles program will be held Sept. 23 in Buckhannon, W.Va.
