UPDATE: Two critical after aviation incident near Toowoomba

UPDATE 10.50AM: A QUEENSLAND Ambulance spokesperson has confirmed that the two patients being treated for injuries after an aircraft collision this morning at the Darling Downs Soaring Club are in a critical condition.

The spokesperson was unable to confirm whether the incident happened in the air, despite other media reports suggesting that was the case.

QAS were able to verify that two aircraft had collided at scene, with early reports suggesting aircraft were gliders.

BREAKING: Queensland police are responding to an “aviation incident” an hour from Toowoomba this morning.

Emergency services were called to Mason Rd, Bowenville, shortly before 10am.

The Queensland Ambulance Services said mulitple paramedics were on the scene of a “light aircraft” incident in the Darling Downs.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service also confirmed a crew was on the scene of an “incident involving an aircraft” at Bowenville.

A spokeswoman for QFES said the crew had not been required to remove any trapped persons or extinguish a fire.
