Students to visit airports and learn about Kansas aviation

WICHITA, Kan. (KNSS) – The 2017 Fly Kansas Air Tour will begin on September 28th, which lasts three days and spans over 10 cities in Kansas.  

Over 500 students are expected to attend their local airports and learn about Kansas aviation from experienced pilots.  Brianna Landon from KDOT says avaition is an important part of Kansas history.

“They will learn about legendary fliers, such as Amelia Earhart, at the Memorial Airport in Atchison,” said Landon.  “As well as information about all types of avaition careers.”

The public is also encouraged to visit their local airports during the tour and participate in the event. The event will kick off from Wellington on September 28th.
