Strat Aero shares flying high after greenlight from Aviation Authority – Proactive Investors UK

Shares in PLC () soared 160% higher after the UK Civil Aviation Authority granted it National Qualified Entity (NQE) status.

The group hailed it as an important development in the commercialisation of its drone pillot training programmes.

In order to apply for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilot’s licence, individuals need to show that they trained at an NQE certified centre.

“The grant of NQE status is an endorsement of the company’s training programmes and confirms the quality of Strat Aero’s suite of commercial teaching courseware,” said Strat Aero in a statement Tuesday.

The NQE status coincides with the launch of a number of new training initiatives.

Strat Aero provides a broad range of UAV, or “drone”, training solutions, including specialist training for military and law enforcement users.

“We are delighted that our training operation has now been formally recognised by the CAA, one of the world’s leading National Aviation Authorities,” said chief executive Iain McLure.

Shares were flying at a three-month high of 1.13p.
