ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) — The Escanaba Department of Safety responded to a stolen vehicle complaint in the 800 block of North Lincoln Rd. on Aug. 18 at 9:46 p.m.
Around four and a half hours later, the stolen vehicle was located by the Norway Police Department and a traffic stop was attempted. A vehicle chase ensued through three counties. The chase ended when the stolen vehicle crashed at the intersection of US-2/US-41 and M-69 in Delta County.
Escanaba Public Safety lodge an 18-year-old male on the charge of Unlawfully Driving Away with an Automobile (UDAA), and he is currently lodged at the Delta County Correctional Facility on a $75,000 bond awaiting arraignment.
Agenices assisting in the apprehension included the Norway Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Menominee County Sheriff’s Department, Hannahville Tribal Police Department, Michigan State Police, Delta County Sheriff’s Department, and the three dispatch centers from Dickinson County, Menominee County and Delta County.
