Fiat Chrysler Automobile is all set to launch its Jeep Compass SUV in India and will finally put an end to all the speculations about its pricing. This is also probably the most important model for the company in India and is indeed betting big on this SUV. Jeep Compass is the Jeep’s first locally manufactured product in India and is being manufactured at FCA’s Ranjangaon facility near Pune. For the production of the Jeep Compass, the company has invested $280 million at its facility. The Ranjangaon facility will also be a global hub of manufacturing all the right-hand drive (RHD) models for other RHD markets making it an important export model as well. Jeep dealers have started accepting the bookings of the Compass at an amount of Rs 50,000. The Compass will be available in five trims- Sports, Longitude, Limited, Longitude(O), Limited (O) and in five colours- Vocal White, Brilliant Black, Minimal Grey, Hydro Blue and Exotic Red. We expect the company to price the Jeep Compass between Rs 18 – 22 lakh price range, ex-showroom. The SUV will rival the likes of Tata Hexa and Mahindra XUV500.
