Honda chooses China’s Neusoft as partner for new EVs- Nikkei Asian Review

TOKYO — Control software expert Neusoft will link up with Honda Motor in the development of a China-only electric vehicle planned for roll out in 2018, the Japanese company announced Monday.

Honda said the collaboration will include developing technologies for battery management, cloud management of vehicle data and connectivity.

Established in 1991, Neusoft is a major information technology company in China with research and development offices across the country and nearly 20,000 employees. The company mainly develops software, and has deals with a wide range of domestic and overseas clients, including energy, electronics and communications companies.

The company has a competitive edge in producing software for automotive navigation and driver assistance systems.

Honda also announced that two of its Chinese joint ventures, GAC Honda Automobile and Dongfeng Honda Automobile, will jointly develop the new EV with R&D subsidiary Honda Motor China Technology.

The vehicle will be produced at GAC Honda and Dongfeng Honda under their respective brands, the company said.
