Historic East India Trading Company estate-turned-theatre college opens to the public with guided tours (From This Is Local London)

A historic mansion-turned-theatre college will be opened for the public with guided tours.

The Grade II listed Lamorbey House is where the Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance is located where actors such as Gary Oldman trained.

The house, located in Burnt Oak Lane in Sidcup, will be opened to the public on Saturday (September 16) as part of the open house London weekend.

Built in 1745 under the ownership of William Steele, a director of the East India Company, it was acquired by Kent Education Services in 1946 and became an adult education centre and now caters for over 650 students.

The house and grounds will be open from 10am to 3pm and visitors will be able to book guided tours upon arrival on a first come first served basis.
