SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Covered California isn’t immune to the repeal and replace Affordable Care Act debate.
On Tuesday, many Anthem customers received emails that said the health care company would no longer be offering plans in Santa Barbara, Ventura and other counties.
Mariella Stockmal said the company blames uncertainty.
Anthem’s stock went up after the announcement, but patients are feeling let down.
Stockmal said she can’t afford more than she already pays.
If there isn’t enough competition to keep prices down she may opt out of having insurance.
Sansum Clinic is also feeling the impact.
The company does not have a contract with another provider.
Sansum issued the following statement; “Once we know what options are available we will work with those plans to get a contract so that continuity of of care will be preserved.”
