American Honda Motor Co., Inc. announced that Jeff Conrad will retire effective Dec. 1, 2017 as the senior vice president of the Automobile Sales Division and general manager of Honda Auto Sales, to be succeeded in both roles by Henio Arcangeli, Jr., who will join the company next week. Over the next two months, Arcangeli will work with the company’s management team, including side-by-side with Conrad, to better understand the company and the future business plans for the Honda and Acura brands.
In a message to Honda associates about the succession plan, American Honda president & CEO Toshiaki Mikoshiba thanked Conrad for supporting the transition in executive leadership. “I want to thank Jeff for his selfless commitment to support the important transition to new leadership by helping onboard Henio Arcangeli, Jr.,” he said. “We have a strong team in place, and with the management experience and fresh thinking of Henio we will continue our efforts to grow Honda and Acura business.”
Conrad recently marked his 35th anniversary with American Honda, joining the company in 1982 as a district sales manager in a career that has seen him assume a progression of leadership positions in sales and marketing, including leading sales operations for both the Honda and Acura automobile brands, as well as National Marketing Operations.
Arcangeli brings with him more than 15 years of experience as a senior operating executive with several major international companies and well-known brands including Yamaha Motor Corporation USA, Pioneer Electronics (USA) and, most recently, Yanmar North America. Arcangeli holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the General Motors Institute (now Kettering University), an M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
