Flamingo Air Partners with Women in Aviation International and the Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance to Offer Two Aviation Related Scholarships

CINCINNATI, OH — September 28, 2017 — Lunken Airport basedFlamingo Air today announces that the aviation training organization will join fellow aviation leaders such as Delta, Pratt & Whitney, and FedEx to offer an exclusive scholarship to members of the Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM).

This scholarship will cover tuition and fees for Flamingo Air’s Avionics Electronic Technician program in the amount of $6,000. This program teaches students how to repair and maintain electronic systems such as radio communications, aircraft navigation systems, weather radar, engine controls, and any other instruments involved in the operation of an aircraft. This scholarship is the second scholarship to be offered to AWAM since Flamingo Air created the Avionic Electron Technician program two years ago.

Additionally, Flamingo Air will be awarding an Aircraft Dispatcher Certification course scholarship at the WAI Convention in Reno.  The $3,000 scholarship is given to a member of WAI to enable them to achieve their FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate.  Flamingo Air has awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to WAI for dispatcher certification and is happy to expand their involvement in promoting opportunities in aviation careers through the AWAM Avionics scholarship.

Those interested in the scholarship must be AWAM members, and can join the organization and apply for the award at www.awam.org/scholarships. The deadline for application is November 21, 2017 and winners will be announced on March 24, 2018 at the AWAM Scholarship Breakfast during the 2018 International Women in Aviation (WAI) conference in Reno, Nevada.
