European Bizav Flights Continue Growth in July

European business aviation traffic achieved a ninth consecutive month of growth in July, marking a period of consecutive growth not seen since 2010, according to the latest Eurocontrol data released today by the European Business Aviation Association.

Business aviation operations in July—including arrivals, departures, internal and external operations—reached 74,684, a 5.7 percent increase compared with a year earlier. The increase was the strongest growth for the month of July in 10 years, added EBAA CEO Brandon Mitchener. “We are pleased to report that business aviation movements in Europe in July once again demonstrated robust year-on-year growth, continuing the sector’s uninterrupted rise in traffic figures for the ninth month running.”

Average daily flights in Turkey jumped 21.2 percent in July and 7.6 percent in the Spain/Portugal airspace block. The UK and Germany experienced positive growth internally. The internal French market remains the largest, despite a 3.1 percent slowdown in July, with an average of 198.5 daily fights. Nice, with an average of 82.9 daily departures, was among the airport leaders for business aviation traffic.

Traffic through the first seven months of the year has jumped 5.6 percent year-over-year. EBAA noted that European business aviation operations have not experienced such growth over that period since 2007.
