Uber join hands with AAI

Ride sharing company Uber announced a partnership with Airports Authority of India (AAI) to offer easier options to riders for travelling from the airports reported a national news agency on Thursday.
The service will be operational at the airports in Kolkata, Chennai, Bhubaneswar and Pune in the next couple of weeks, Uber said in a statement. Read more

Govt softens norms under UDAN-2

The announcement regarding the airlines that have won the rights to operate flights is likely to be announced by the government in the second round of bidding as part of the regional air connectivity scheme (RCS) by November 30 of the current year.
The operators of the flight will be able to decide from a total of 350 airports and landing strips to operate the RCS flights in the second round of bidding. While the actual number of airports is also likely to rise with helicopters becoming capable of landing in places other than airports or landing strips. Read More

GMR-led DIAL plans to begin capacity expansion of Delhi Airport

The GMR Group-led Delhi International Airport (DIAL) announced that it is all set to start the process of Delhi Airport capacity expansion plan, reported a leading news daily.
The expansion process, as per the IGI Airport Master Plan 2016, will encompass the airport’s airside, terminal and landside. The plan will be implemented in three modular phases-phase 3A (2018-21), 3B (2021-25) and Phase 4 (2026 onwards). Read More
