Air Asia X Boosts Profit As Demand Strengthens

Long-haul LCC AirAsia X (AAX) achieved strong growth in its second quarter profit, as it managed to spur healthy demand despite significant capacity expansion.

The carrier reported a net profit of 47.4 million ringgit ($11 million) for the June quarter, up from just over 1 million ringgit in the same period a year earlier. Revenue was up by 17% to 1 billion ringgit, with the rate of increase higher than the 26% capacity gain.
