WELLINGTON, Kan. – An event to promote community airports is coming to Kansas.
The 2017 Fly Kansas Air Tour starts Friday, September 29th in Wellington for a three-day celebration of aviation in the state. More than 50 pilots and aircraft plan to take part in the tour.
The event aims to promote community airports and STEM education in Kansas, and one of its goals is to introduce young people to aviation.
This is the fourth year in a row the year has taken place, but the first tour launched in 1928.
The public is invited to the event on the 29th to see airplanes up close, talk to piltos, and learn about the role of aviation in Kansas.
